Risperidone vs Mirtazepine

Posted by jono_in_adelaide on July 26, 2011, at 22:46:13

Hi,

panic disorder/GAD/depression here

Current meds are

Zoloft 100mg om

Edronax (reboxetine) 4mg bd

Xanax 1mg bd - tid

Risperidone 1mg hs

Have been wondering, as I dont think Zoloft does anything for me, could I substitute mirtazepine for both the Zoloft and the risperidone (at the dose I am taking, risperidone is a 5HT antagonist, not an antipsychotic)

Replace two pills with one, and get rid of the stigma of using an antipsychotic!

Seriously remeron did nothing for me at 15mg and didn't gain weight either was supposed to be for sleep. Why not up the zoloft to 150? Try that first. Forget stigmas if it works. Phillipa
