It feels different than Nortiptyline. I feel more depressed and super anxiety ridden at times and then wiped out in the afternoon needing a nap.
My doc said "wasn't the plan to get you up to 50mg?" I think when you take paxil with it you don't need as much. I'm only at 20 and feel terrible. Can't imagine what 50 would be like.
I have a strong feeling this isn't going to be the one. So some of the suggestions before included milnacipran.
I'm on paxil and plan to stay on it. Either at 10mg. or 20 so it has to be something that can be added to paxil.
I'm going to ask Dr. Gillman what he thinks.
Would have loved to stay on Nortriptyline but the weight gain was ridiculous.
Any ideas/advice?

I wanted to add that I also feel constantly warm and perspiring and twitches here and there - in my legs and arms and scalp, etc.
These I did not have before as well.

Laney you know what the only combo that worked for me when a med worked was the l0mg of paxil with low dose of luvox yes an SSRI also. But if the starting dose of luvox is 50mg. And regular dose of paxil is 20mg. Why not take l0 paxil and try 25mg of luvox. No more serotonin right? When had lymes disease took 2.5mg of Paxil and 12.5mg of luvox with xanax. Phillipa

Hello Laney,
Was you taking Paxil with nort or nort alone. What dose of nort was you taking ? Have you tried the popular SSri s Celexa, zoloft, Lexapro etc

I've tried Zoloft and Celexa to no avail. Yes, I took the Nort. along with the paxil at 75mg. Nort.
P- I don't know. Just have to ask my doc what he thinks. I just know that this combo isn't working out.

Can you be sure the nort alone was giving you weight gain ? maybe as you was dosing with paxil the potency of the nort was doubled leading to weight gain ? or the mixture of the 2 just made you gain...... how about retrying nort alone ?

I'd like to investigate a different medication because yes, it was the Nort alone. When I went off, the weight came off as well.

That's fantastic and proof to me that some meds do cause weight gain. None on l0mg of paxil for me or any other SSRI, or SNRI. Phillipa

Have you tried taking Paxil (20-40mg/day)or another SSRI along with Welbutrin (300mg/day)
