Lamictal: The original effect gone

Posted by philipmarlowe78 on July 21, 2011, at 11:08:05

Last year I started Lamictal, and noticed that already at low levels such as 50 mg. in the morning, I would get incredible amounts of energy and sex drive when I drank green tea throughout the day; it was almost too much of a good thing.

Lamictal did something to me that made me hypersensitive to green tea, and cranked up its effect no end

Well, that was then and this is now, and everything is gone. I do not respond to Lamictal anymore, and it's effect is all gone.

What brought about Lamictals downfall was that I started Ritalin last year, and after that Lamictal just flat out refused to work for me.

I have been off Ritalin for half a year now, and I have several times stopped Lamictal, taking a month or two free from it, and then starting it (Lamictal) again, but it just won't work.

What can I do to kick-start Lamictal, and bounce it back up where it once was, in terms of its energizing side-effect?

And can anybody give me the technical lowdown on why Lamictal made green tea so incredible high-voltage?

Thanks!

Isn't green tea supposed to be calming? I drink iced a lot. Phillipa

Have you ever tried a TCA like Nortriptyline? I've tried Lamictal and it didn't do anything for my mood but I know what you mean by energizing. Nortriptyline on the other hand did both.

Blessings!

Thanks for your comment and answer on my Lamictal question, but listen, Nortriptyline sure is a veteran (never used it, though; that and the kitchen-sink was the two things I never got around to), and we still have it in Norway, but what I wonder is this:

Does Nortriptyline crank up sex-drive and - pardon me - erection capabilities, if you energize it with, say, green-tea?

Note on energizing: Benzedrine is out, I'm afraid. Besides it torments you by turning sex-drive through the roof while robbing you of your capabilities to "do anything about it"

"My Englisshh goood, yez?" :-)

PS - sent this to you personally, before I found out I could post follow-ups on this site. This just ain't not don't my day, using triple negatives and everything.
