bupropion tinnitus? can it be permanent?

Posted by ralphrogers on July 16, 2011, at 6:54:17

Hello,

I did some research about this problem, but it's always good to get to know some personal experiences.

I'm having some success with bupropion, but it seems that this ear ringing I'm getting is worsening... I'm hearing sounds softer and distorted :(

Yesterday I went to a party and today I'm hearing this loud buzz on both ears...

Is it possible that this tinnitus gets permanent (I've read some stories like this)? Or does it actually worsen with time (if medication is kept), leading to more hearing loss?

I thought about switching to Methylphenidate, but I wonder if it also could trigger or worsen this tinnitus, if this is a sensitivity I have.

It's sad. Bupropion is really helping me, after having tried many meds.

Thank you

Ralph
