Deprenyl-makes me Calm + Tired

Posted by BrainDamage on July 1, 2011, at 6:12:12

I've recently started taking Deprenyl/Sellegiline

10-15mgs tablets, sublingually
I am very surprised that it seems to make me less anxious, to the point where I actually feel tired.

I'm surprised that an MAO-B inhibitor could have this effect, I didn't know that they could help with anxiety...........
Interestingly Low Dopamine is actually associated with Anxiety
I wonder if this is a sign that I have low Dopamine?

Sedation is a typical side effect of pure dopaminergic drugs, including l-dopa.

Supposedly you can get a buzz off of phenethylamine when you are on deprenyl. You can buy it for almost nothing on the internet.

well, lower than on selegiline :)

i won't worry about if it is 'low', just if it better one way or another. fear and being eaten by a lion are natural. i choose happiness instead.

Any other significant side effects? I wonder why that med isn't used more often in psychiatry.

i think the reason is 'it is an MAOI' so you get the category freakout, but the low doses used for parkinsons suffers arne'tn really that useful for depression so it also 'isn't any antidepressant'

there is a lot of woow in psych hysteresis

I start selegiline tomorrow. Are you getting other side effects as well, or just sedation?
