I have been taking one Darvocet a day for about two and a half years. Now it is being taken off the market.. What is the best way to taper off. I take it for arthritis pain but it helps my depression too.

That is an extremely low dose, so you could just stop. You may feel irritable and tired at first but it will pass in a few weeks.
If you need a replacement, you could try acetaminophen on its own, or a combination tablet containing acetaminophen + a weak opioid such as codeine.

Vicoden has more kick and it and Codine both make me very ill, even when taken with food. I have never taken Tramadol -- I will talk to my doctor this week and would really like to try and just stop altogether. I will see how it goes skipping a day here and there then spacing out the days longer each time. Thanks for the reply.
This is the end of the thread.
