venlafaxine update

Posted by linkadge on November 5, 2010, at 14:44:28

Well, I'm going to hold on to it since it helps, but still not ideal.

Taking 10mg amitriptyline + 37.5 venlafaxine.

plus some methyphendiate.

I feel better but......wonkey.

Good news :)

Wonkey? You have a very unique way of describing how you feel Link.

I can relate to wonkey. It's when you feel out of it and not quite right. Antihistamines make me feel wonkey. Neurontin made me feel very wonkey, like I was walking on clouds. Yup, I know wonkey. Maybe it's a Canadian thing! LOL!

seems like a good combo. Hits a lot of receptors. Is wonkey a good thing?

Yeah, I think wonkey is Canadian. Only Canadians can feel wonkey, I think. What about woosey? Is that Canadian too?

Wonkey, for me, means my brain is not thinking in a linear manner....feeling "out of it". Some visual distortions too. Things not looking symmetrical.

Wonky and woozy (esp wozzy) are used in southern mid-north america, at least by me.

So Link, you've been on effexor before, right? I can't speak to your combo, but effexor made me feel both wonky and woozy until I acclimated. Kinda like how humans acclimate to gravity. I found it, other than some teeth grinding, fairly transparent. Good luck!

Sometimes diet and exercise are a more appropriate approach in cases of mild depression.

I'm surprised you don't feel stimulated from the venlafaxine + methylphenidate.

What range is your amitriptyline dose in?

No, people say that here. Like 'I've had too much to drink, I feel woosey'.

Oh yeah, we Canadians are a very wonky bunch. I guess that is what makes us so lovable.

From an urban dictionary:

wonky
crooked, not quite right, oddly misshapen...in other words, down right broken and weird. anything that seems outta sorts or retarded, up to and including smells, sounds, gestures & physical deformities.

you sure are acting wonky.

crazy, loony, not quite right, out of sorts. a mix of bonkers and wacky.

After drinking I felt a bit wonky

(insert name here)'s grotesquely wonky face frightens the small children.

AND MY PERSONAL FAVORITE

what's that wonky smell coming from your butt?

It's funny. In the US wonky generally is used to refer to so-called "policy wonks" -- people who are into the details of public policy to solve social problems.
