I would like to first and foremost suggest we keep positive and respectful here and not turn this conversation negative. I think all of us struggle with negativity as it is. Even if we strongly disagree with Lou, as I do, we should keep in mind that frustration is extremely detrimental to a lot of our wellbeings.

Some people will never agree that taking psychiatric medicines is beneficial, responsible, and even life saving, so lets not try too hard to get caught up in convincing people otherwise if we already know what's best for ourselves. Just my point of view.

Cute name for a thread.

Yes, I have an outstanding question(s) for you. The link is http://www.dr-bob.org/babble/20101009/msgs/966209.html
I have another one somewhere about the New Realm. I will try to hunt it down.

Darn it, the post where I wrote about the New Realm is "broken". I go to the link and I get an error message. :( I really wanted answers to that one.

maxime,
You asked;
A. do you post on other boards (of this type)?
B. Who are you
C. your background
D. when become intersted
E. have you ever taken
F. do you know anyone that
G. that died
H. do you have
I. why crusade

These are all good questions that I think could help save lives. You see, the liturature states that about 40,000 people die each year from one way or another involving psychotropic drugs. Now it has been explained to me that there could also be unreported deaths from psychotropic drugs. One psychiatrist told me that there could be 10 to one in relation to non-reported deaths. One said even a 100 to one. Now if that is true, then millions of people will die as time runs for the next century regardless if it is or is not either 10 to 1 or 100 to one or 1 to 1.
I think that these stats show a crisis that I want to be a part of it to show people to have awareness to the facts involving the use of psychotropic drugs. I want to spread the news.
These vagabond shoes of mine have taken me to many sites of this nature. But I 've never made it there. But I think that if I can make it here, I can make it anywhere.

I have three simple questions:

1. Have you ever been diagnosed with a psychiatric illness?

2. If yes, to number 1 above, what is it?

3. Have you ever taken medication?

Friends,
The shop is crowded now but I do intend to serve everyone. Please have the correct change ready.
Now serving johnj1, you can imagine me and johnj1 sitting in comfortable chairs in the shop and here is the converstaion.

johnj1: ever diagnosed..?..what?.prescribed?
Lou: Yes johnj1, I have had the classic dibilitating depressions typical in the liturature as bi polar depression. Some lasted for years. I was given psychotropic drugs by an MD and a psychiatrist.
This may explain some as to what I know conserning the issues here, for I have been in some of the same places that I see members are in here. Thank you for the question and please come back again.

Maybe Dr. Bob has some pull with the zoning commission. I hope your permit works out. Your shop would be very
welcome here. I'd like it.

Good evening, Toph. I have been expecting that you would drop in.
You asked for me to tell you my experiance with psychotropic drugs.
I could start many years ago and I was getting increasingly fatigued and depressed. This was alarming as it was way out of ordinary fatigue and being down. I could not go to work and had great feelings of being worthless along with other things.
I went to a medical doctor and he gave me pills and said that I had to take them for a couple of weeks before they would work. I did not know what they were and he did not tell me of anything else. This was around 1970.
I took the pills and got worse. I stopped taking them and then went into a horrific situation. At the time, I did not know what was happening and it wasn't until much later that I found out that what I was experiancing was withdrawal. I spent 4 months in agony with what I now know was withdrawal from the drug. I was close to loosing all hope, for the burden of living was too much, too much to carry, when I had a vision of a Rider on a White Horse. He said to me, "Come into me, you that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest."

Hi Lou, I am sorry that your experience with that med did not go well. Have you tried any of the more recent meds that are available?

I don't think you have to worry about a zoning permit for your little shop. There is enough bandwidth for everyone!

maxime,
You wrote,[...your experiance with that med...]
That experiance with that med was the initial med. I did not know what the med was and I thought that it was some type of vitamin or such for the extreme fatigue. It was a couple of years after the med before I found out that it was not a vitamin and that I was addicted to it and went through a withdrawal.
I read many experiances here and can relate to others since I experianced what I did. I am with our Scott here in that the fatigue and all just happened without me being aware of a cause of it and I agree with Scott that there is some psysiological mechanism that creates what I experianced as if the whole body and mind systems have some type of derailment and produces the syndrome called depression which has a host of symptoms going along with it. It could also be revisited after the firat episode. I have been studying this and have been revealed what could be unbeknownst even to the medical field as to what causes depression and how one can overcome addiction and depression. I have experianced the living death that I am writing about here and I have experianced {a way out} of the death into a new life.

Hi Lou,

Actually, I haven't yet had the pleasure of dropping into your shop, other than read the flyers you have mailed out. But since you mentioned me, I must tell you that I have been extremely fortunate to have my BP II well controlled by simple lithium carbonate for 25 years. The times in the past when I needed psychotropics to bring me out of a psychotic mania I believe the drugs were necessary, but I am glad that I did not need to stay on them after I was stabilized as the side effects were bothersome to me.

Try not to work too many hours in the shop Lou. Also, I really appreciated the narrative style you have used in these posts.
