I hope the lithium increase helps you. How do you like Nardil compared to Parnate?

I'm not sure I can keep the job. I am spending too much on gas. It may not be worth it to keep the job. I will have to see ...

Can you see if the Vocational Rehabilitation services in your area will help you with gas money? It probably wouldn't be for long, but it's worth checking into, it seems to me. In my area (which I realize is not the same country you are in), V.R. has been known to help in that way.

Of course, I will add that V.R. did not work out for me. I may try it again some time, though. I did feel sort of worse after the fact, like it just got my hopes up, and then dashed them. So, I guess there is a risk. (And, I'm sorry if I just did the same thing here.) *specially pronounced sore-ee for Canadians :)

Maxie, you have try to find a way to get free counseling and see if you can go two times a week.

Isn't the job going to pay for the gas money at least? I guess you will have to wait for the paychecks and may run out of money to pay for gas before you get them. I'm just thinking, even if you don't really make any money at this job, maybe it will still help you eventually.

Hope you feel better soon, hang in there.

Morgan

Yes, I will earn enough money to pay for gas. However, I need to look at how much I will be making a month (it will vary from week to week based on the scheduling). If I am earning the same as on Welfare ... well, I am better off staying on Welfare and trying to find a more suitable job.

I dunno Maxie, even if the pay is bad, you could still benefit from the job. You would meet new people, do new things. If you like the shop, you might really enjoy it after a while.

I agree with you Ed. But I can't earn less than I make on Welfare because it's already very little money.

I do a lot of volunteer work so I do interact with people.

I feel so sad right now.

What hours would you be doing Maxie?

I think you need a hug right now.

I don't know. Would have to talk to the manager. I am feeling really sad about it all and that once again, I am a failure. :(

Not if you go and get the job. That's a success!

Now Maxie, you need to arrange to do enough hours to make the job financially worthwhile. Perhaps you could talk the manager tomorrow? You did say you liked the shop.

My manager is on vacation and there is no assistant manager. But the manager will return this week and I will talk to her.

Thanks Ed.

Trapped. Can't out. Don't know what to do anymore. This has been my life for as long as I can remember. I want to die. I want to OD. I do not want to live.

I think you really need some support in person. Do you think you need to go back to the crisis centre?

Why did you lose it Maxie?

Please be kind to yourself and don't forget that a lot of people lose retail jobs very quickly. I know someone who manages a shop and many new starters don't stay for very long. For one reason or another, they aren't suited to the job. Of course, this doesn't mean that they wouldn't be suited to a different job. Because of the shortage of jobs at the moment, managers have become extremely picky.

Love Ed xx

I don't know why I lost it. I just received a call today to tell me not to bother coming in for the rest of the week and to call my manager on Monday (she is on holiday now)

That doesn't necessarily mean you lost the job, if they told you to call the manager. It may be they just didn't need you on the schedule this week, which happens a lot in retail and in the restaurant industry. My daughter works in a bar/restaurant and they're always cutting her hours or calling and telling her not to come in because it's too slow.

Sadly, it does in this case. I asked them if I was being fired and there was a long silence at the other end. I guess they don't have authority to tell me. I was going to quit the job because I would have been earning less than what I get on Welfare. However, I was going to wait until the Manager was back. I wish I could have beat them to the punch because now, even though I was going to quit .... I HAVE BE FIRED. I am so ashamed. AT this point I really would be better off dead. I am a loser and a burden to those around me.
