I started getting akathisia at 40mg of Geodon. This is my 3rd time on the med and it hasn't happened to me before but it is now. I can't drop down to 20mg because that doesn't resolve my symptoms. Anyone know if akathisia goes away or does it continue while on the medication?

I was taking a high dose of perphenazine (an older AP) and had akathisia. My p-doc told me to take benadryl (an over the counter anti-histamine) and it worked very well. Exercise helped as well.

Akathisia doesn't always go away. Just get some Artane.
