Whoo, boy. This one's hard for me to type out. I've been prescribed 90mg Parnate a day for quite some time now, the problem is that, in order for it to work, and work well, I have to bump it up against MD advice to 130-140 or so.
This has wreaked terror on my system, as I've had to spend prescious money off-insurance and go into ERs to make up the difference.
I never wanted to tell my doctor I did this on my own, because I don't want to lose his respect, and I am honestly scared sh*tl*ss.
Anyway, this amount of Parnate is also of concern to me. 90mg does nothing. I am thinking of trying Marplan, has anyone made this switch? How long before you noticed anything, and at what dose?

The main issue is that parnate does have abuse potential. So explaining to your doctor that you *need* more parnate than usual could easily come across the wrong way.
Yes, marplan might be a good idea. Also, I think there is some literature on high doses of parnate being effective for TRD.
