remeron experience?

Posted by floatingbridge on January 26, 2010, at 16:55:26

At what dose is remeron used as an add-on for sleep and stress reduction? Anyone have success combining it with pristiq?

I understand it decreases NE, which might be good for me, and disinhibits DA. At a low therapeutic dose add-on, does one feel knocked out in the morning? Cognitive impairment? Discontinuation symptoms? I tried trazadone and it was awful!

no time to google the archives today--only what I read on wiki last night.

Never tried it, but I did try 7.5mg mirtazepine twice (and twice only) for insomnia. I was a wreck until 3 in the afternoon at which time it left my system. Character building, I guess.

Paradoxically, with mirtazipine, those types of side effects usually decrease as does increases.

7.5mg sounds like a scary dose. 30mg was pretty nice for me, only left me a wreck until 10am :D

First per the link of meds Dr Bob posted trazadone is being discontinued at least on his link one of the many meds. I seriously did take 15 mg of remeron for sleep and with benzos too and it did nothing never ever tierd tried for six weeks and stopped no withdrawal either. Love Phillipa

Hi,

The proper dose of Remeron: 15 - 45 mg.
Bad side effects: weight gain and sedation.

I was always tired when I was on Remeron,
but then I began with Wellbutrin.

This drug took care of the sedation.
I'm doing fine on a Remeron/Wellbutrin combo.

Best regards,
X-ray

thanks

So, I'm thinking a low dose-- no more than 15mg to start, taken early evening, and starting on Friday (in case I truly am knocked out)....

Maybe it would boost pristiq and relieve anxiety. Oh well. I think I'll try the lithium first, unless pdoc suggests otherwise.

Thanks everyone!
