Morgan, I am sorry that you have been feeling this way as well. It's not pleasant place to be. I hope it passes for the both us.

Wow, I can feel the effect of the extra Parnate. I am roasting. I also feel very stimulated.

Well, at least you know it's doing something. Hopefully you'll experience an improvement in mood soon too. I've got my fingers crossed for you!

Thank you. It will probably take a week or so to have an effect on my mood ... but I can wait.

I am so hot! It's amazing what a little extra Parnate can do. I have a fever of 101. I hope it goes away soon. I'm not feeling very well.

Okay, maybe adding 20 mg at once of Parnate was not a good idea. I am having a hypertensive crisis. The back of my head is killing me and I have a fever of 102. I just took 100 mg of thorazine to bring everything down.

I didn't even eat anything I wasn't supposed to.

Parnate is such a weird med. I think I am going to go and lay down now.

I was hypertensive with Parnate too. Now granted, I was on 160mg before I got hypertensive, but maybe your body is more sensitive to it. It can be a nasty drug for that. I'm worried about your fever, too. Maybe you should call your doctor (I wasn't smart enough to do that).

Maxime, of course I'm concerned--temperature elevation can be part of a hypertensive crisis? Maybe I'm a wimp, but should you call a doctor, just to check in and let someone near you know?

Please write back when you can,

I'm worried too. Are you alone at home? Please let us know you're OK.

Hugs!!!

I can relate. I was laid off and was so stressed out. It wasn't just the layoff, it was a career crisis. I knew I had to change careers and I had no idea where to start or what to do. Unemployment money only took me so far, since I was living in Chicago. My girlfriend then left to teach abroad and so we basically broke up. I also had knee surgery during this time too and that added some stress.

I cried a lot during those times, but somehow I think the mood stabilizer Lamictal kept my head above water. In other words, it never got to the point of clinical depression.

Right now, your increasing bad days may or may not have anything to do with your medical condition. Anybody could be stressed out and down under your circumstances. I think if I were you, I'd maybe give it a couple more weeks and see what happens. Then, maybe you can get some drug tweaking done.

Right now, I'm not feeling too good either. I have new career issues and a good friend just committed suicide. I'm scared that my long run of several years without clinical depression may be coming to an end, but I'm gonna give it about 2 weeks before I wave the red flag.

Wow, it's amazing you're keeping your head above water after everything that's happened. I think that during extra tough times it's OK to tweak a little, maybe increase dosages, to help get through the crisis, though, don't you? I mean, instead of just waiting it out. Hopefully the extra parnate will help Maxime. (Still waiting for an update, hon!)

That was scary. Luckily the thorazine worked. I don't know how long it took to work because I fell asleep from it. When I woke up a few hours later my fever was gone and so was the headache. I was just really, really tired from the thorazine. A few years ago I took a HUGE OD of Parnate and my temperature went up to a 105 and then I started convulsing and don't remember the rest. I guess it's how my body does a hypertensive crisis. I took my full amount of Parnate today and I am fine. Weird.

Thanks for caring.

Maxine, what a relief. I was worried--thanks for letting us know.

So you took 80 today. Will you stay there for awhile or increase more slowly.

So glad you're o.k.

hugs galore,

Thanks for the hugs. I actually took my new dosage of 100 mg and I was fine. It really was freaky what happened yesterday. I am relieved that I had the thorazine to take.

Not sleeping

I have been awake all night from the increase in Parnate. I hope it doesn't last too long. I don't want to have to deal with lack of sleep issues.

Hmm, what should I do now. It's 5 am. Maybe I will write some cards.

I believe sleep deprivation has been shown to reduce depression so maybe that's your silver lining. Maybe it'll give the parnate an extra boost, AD-wise.

It seems like a good sign that you're feeling well enough to write cards.

It's 2:30 am and I can't sleep. I used Loxepin for sleep but it's not working any more. My body gets used to meds very quickly. I need sleep or else I will start having hallucinations like I did last week.
