Just wanted to know if someone see any improve of their anxiety problems on the Lamictal.
It's a kind of last ressort med for me, since I try almost everything to stop my anxiety.
Since more than 6 month, i'm living on a constant panic disorder state, with 5 to 10 panic attacks a day, some trigger (drive my car, going out of the house alone, shopping center) and some panic not trigger (when I watch TV, in the shower...).
Living in that constant panic mood almost kill me. I have no energy, i'm hypervigileant about my body sensations, especially the blood pressure, pulse rate and head pain.
Also, I start again having cluster headache (one side of the head near the temple, sometimes 2 side at the same time) and I have also a big JAW pain, I can'T chew a gum anymore... Will have a MRI test done soon...
Anyway, I wake up in the morning with no pain in the head... and usually the pain start in the morning, increase in the afternoon and when I go out of the house in the evening, the pain reach a level of no return, I mean that it's very painfull and sometimes I feel just like I will be sick because of it or do a seizure...
That's why I ask about the Lamictal, I read it was good for this type of headache... but I also read that the Lamictal have some nasty side-effects...
Also, just to let you know, i'm currently on 8 mg day of Rivotril... I try to take only 1 mg pill with a gaps of 2, 2:30 hours between each dose at daytime...
I try to return on the Paxil one month ago but was not able to deal with the increase anxiety. I had to cut the 10mg pill in 4 pieces and even at 2,5mg day, I was feeling like I was on speed!!!
This week I try the Lexapro... I had the same kind of reaction with a low dose of 2.5 mg!!! In fact it was worse than the Paxil...
I have a high level of anticipatory anxiety, but the side-effects I had when I try again those meds (Paxil and Lexapro) was not from my imagination, it was real!!! Increase anxiety, increase sweating, racing heart, worse headache, more panic attacks, sensibility to the light, stronger head pain, unable to stay sit and have to move all the time...
Strangely, last summer I was on 20mg of Paxil, was in the same kind of high anxiety state and was able to start it at 10mg with no problem!!! I just had a lot of sedation and a major weight gain with the Paxil... I stop it because of the weiht gain... what a mistake!!!
So any goods comments or story about the Lamictal will be appreciate...

Vincent took it to 50mg with no side effects. Really felt nothing different. Phillipa

I got up to 200mg lamictal twice for a month. It didn't do anything for me but I didn't have one side effect. Apparently, side effects are very rare on lamictal. Rarely, it can cause a serious rash, which is why they titrate up so slowly, but otherwise, it's not known for any side effects. Check it out on rxlist.com

For the Lamictal??? I suppose that it's just not a good med for anxiety... since I do a lot of research about it and don't see anywhere a studie or something to proof that it was effective for anxiety... but I was asking the question because some peoples here maybe use it off-label for anxiety problems...but I guess I was wrong...
For the LSD and magic mushroom I find it strange that at low dose it's use for cluster headache... I took a lot of them when I was a teenager and I always feel somewhat very anxious on both drugs... especially the LSD and if I can well remember, it's impossible to sleep on those drugs... but I never notice any improve for the headache or migraine, since I had those type of heacache as a teen and a kid also...
I suppose that a med like the LYRICA will be more appropriate for anxiety (panic, general) than anything else use off-label...
