Does anyone know what causes the euphoria you first get with nardil? Is it an elevated amount of dopamine?
Is there anyway to reproduce this feeling? I felt great when I was in the euphoria stage, it has subsided a bit.
Im currently on 75mg a day. Even if I raise my dose it wont come back right?

Hello Blue176!
Welcome to Psycho-Babble. I don't know about Nardil so I can't help you with that, but I hope someone who knows will reply. I just wanted to welcome you to Psycho-Babble. I hope you find what you're looking for here.

I have no idea what causes it, but it feels almost damn good! I say "almost" because it did feel borderline manic to me, which was unpleasant. From what I can tell, the euphoric feeling goes away and won't come back. Unless you go off the medication for a while and come back on perhaps, or if you have an underlying bipolar condition. I would say, aim for remission of depression and not euphoria.

I would have to echo what the previous poster said. It's a great feeling but it's hard to get it back again unless you stop taking it and then restart. But that could be dangerous for your depression. I would aim for just feeling good and not euphoric even though the feeling is great.

Yes , Im currently off Nardil. I have been on it for 7 years. I have had the best effect when I increase the dose ,the effect last 1 or 2 days then everything returns to the same. Stopping the med also makes me feel good for some days and when I restart it too.
I have been wihtout Nardil for almost a month. However I think its time to retun to it. Im starting to have stupid thougths , I dont know how to explain this, I also feel very apathetic
