Wellbutrin

It's the best to replace stimulants, at least it effect's dopamine enought maybe to where the mood elevates to motivation. One thing I want to say on this is..sieuzres are likely above 300mg [exteneded release]. 300 takes a while to get used to.....feel this "aura" feelings, like waves of electricity.

Does anyone here think it compares with Ritilin?

http://www.biopsychiatry.com/bupometh.htm

It show's that it improved effect's on ADHD, yet it's not as noticeable as Rililin, yet it has it's "zombie" like feelings, because that's the inhibition of dopamine.

It's good for people who had trouble with stimulants in the past such as abuse. See, I'll be listenin to a pop radio sation and they just say "pop a adderall" there just on radio doing this. Ugh, I mistook it and I deeply regret it....because now it's a mess to live life without the very medication that worked [dexedrine spansules].

Just be grateful if you take something to help you concentrate because..me, lose my key's..i got a thing now where I put a "ring ring" device on my keys when I lose them.

Anyways back to what I was saying...Wellbutrin mmm..it helps more with depression symptoms for than 'cognitive' skills that Ritilin increases.

That's it..anyone want to blog after this?

I never took a stimulant, but generic Wellbutrin does nothing for my mood or memory. I saw a graph and it showed that it only slightly increases dopamine after norepinephrine. Norepinephrine just makes me jumpy, twitchy, and makes my ears ring. Many say the brand is better, but the graph was written based on the brand name. If there was any dopaminergic effect with the generic I didn't feel it.

A large part of it is noradrenaline, the stress hormone. I've given it 3 trials. It was wonderful for the first 2 months, which became 2 weeks, then two days. Any goodness inevitably peters out until all I'm left with are memory difficulties, sleeplessness and a generally amped-up feeling.

It can help. Personally I am considering other options until something with a more positive benefit/side effect profile comes to market.

West did you take the brand or generic the times you tried it?

Hi Metaj

I took the european equivalent of wellbutrin marketed as zyban by glaxo smith kline. I think they're meant to be the same formulation. Initially it prescribed to me for smoking cessation after gum and patches failed to work, with an angle towards augmenting my antidepressant at the time, escitalopram.

After a year, and two appointments with national health psychiatrists (one of whom I recall telling me there was nothing wrong with me), I paid a visit to a privately practicing psychiatrist in London, before I was finally allowed to take it for depression.

This is the end of the thread.
