You know, this isnt about totally just about one medication, some medication's are diffrent from the "brand" and the "generic", there effect's sometimes are diffrent than the brand name.
I previously took Alprazolam 2mg, and yes i know Xanax Xr releases differny, yet the "effect" is diffrent, is it alprazolam? mixed with some chemical's (how they make it into a tablet) that are diffrent that cause a diffrent effect?
The 2mg was usally sedating and got things back together (during panic, or severe anxiety) XR is totally diffrent...i mean i think 1mg releases .25 every 4 hours, at a 1mg XR tablet.
And the XR seems to have diffrent "side effects", like mania, the generic form alprazolam 2mg that i took, did not cause any type of mania, it just caused a "calm".
Anyone have anyone say?

I couldn't take it didn't sleep for two weeks. But at the same time the 50mg of luvox was taken off. probably why. Phillipa

It felt different from Xanax SR to me, as well.

Hi RJ,
I'm actually liking the xanax xr more than the xanax (o.k. the generic). Too many ups and downs for me with regular xanax. I've been able to decrease my amount (for additional reasons as well). I agree they are different. I'd say, go with your body, unless you find you're building a tolerance to the straight xanax. That would not be good.
What is xanax SR?

Xanax XR, well I think the way it release is, .25 on 1mg, .75mg on 3mg [largest tablet], I notice it's effect's when i take it, yet I know it's very similar to XL formula's because it provides extended release, in a unique way.
.25 is released immidate (that's how i see it) then the rest is slowly released, in more "preventive" of a panic attack. Instead of taking one during a panic attack, it lasts long.
