People only post when they have a question. I guess no one has any questions at this time.

I'm not doing well ...

I'm not (well) these days--just too busy w/ the start of school year. I rarely cruise the board these days. No med changes to report. fainted today for the first time in my life. WTF? Have more complete exam tomorrow. I didn't know one could faint and have their arms and legs 'cycle'. I thought it was a seizure (never had one). Live and learn, huh? I though fainting was like in the movies. Oh, I think they call that swooning.....

Some people have movement like that when they faint. When it happened to me the first time everyone thought I was having a seizure. It wasn't. I was later told by a doctor that some people look like they are having a seizure when they faint. I hope you feel better not. Take care.

Me, too, but apparently not new to my two docs. One said maybe blood pressure (too low) the other said 'vasco-vagus' (spelling!) nerve was involved. Moments earlier I had swallowed some herbal capsules, that, d*mn *t! keep sticking in my throat. So I had some pain around that in my sternum while I am rushing around the house to find my son's shoes. Next thing I know I'm on my back, tunnel vision, my arms and legs pedaling away. It didn't hurt--no thoughts until I think, "what is happening to me?" Then the panic, and I'm able to get up, get my husband. Anyways, one doc says when some people have blood drawn, they faint and do the same thing. Newbies at the clinic think it's a seizure. (BTW, I didn't lose bladder control--key in seizures, I guess--see what one can learn?)

My worst fear--they'd withdraw my meds on the day before my pdoc leaves for Italy!

All's well--just exhausted. Oh. That's not news.

Not well, but am slightly better with 5mg of Remeron. 10mg and 2.5mg depress me. 5mg seems to be just right for some relief.

Next, Parnate.

Percocet my elevate the mood a bit to cope with pain. But now still feel the pain with percocet. Like Like hot molten glass being poured into my hip. Should have asked my ortho for a higher dose.
Part of the problem is have to take my bullmastiff to the vet and she hates going there. She's strong and tries to resist going in and her lunges to get away send shivers of pain though my body. My wife is not strong enough to handle her. After the operation I'm going to take months off to let everything heal.

People may have obligations or may be too sick or depressed to post at some points, Jan so people not posting doesn't mean that they're still not here....

As to how "well" I am... certainly quite far from where I want to be, physically, psychiatrically, and psychologically

Still in a bad way here.

Lost my job and found out my wife was filing for divorce in the same week.

Although she denies it, most of my behaviour she's cited in the legal paperwork are clearly symptoms of my depression.

So this terrible disease has now lost me my job, my self-respect and now my wife and family.

Thanks Scott.

I read with interest today that under UK law if there's mental illness involved the court cannot grant a "quickie" divorce.

Obviously her legal people don't mention "depression" anywhere in reference to me in the paperwork, but it's blatantly obvious from reading the catalogue of my many failings that depression is the cause (eg. hypersomnia, apathy, withdrawal, inability to hold down a job).

So this may not be as fast or straightforward as she hopes.

I'm going to fight this, if only to make a stand against people with mental illness being treated this way. I'm heartily sick of people like us being discriminated against.

I'm sorry to hear about that too -- I don't know the circumstances surrounding your personal life obviously....

...I guess I have to look at the UK law (which I'm not familiar with) and have a pause and say, well, is it preventing divorce in a situation where someone might be able to get mental health help (which I admit can be hideous for some people) and "save" their marriage instead of making a snap decision....

...so that one party or another is not left, well... even more depressed and alone ?

But, I can also say from a personal political view, well... if you have free will, you should be able to marry who you want (gay or straight), and also be responsible but be able to divorce who you want likewise (knowing that you have to take care of any non-adult children that are left).

I hope things go better for you

-- Jay
