Hi.
I was on 90mg Nardil and when it stopped working I immediatle switched to 60 mg Parnate. Do you reckon I will get the full effect of parnate or will it be allot weaker because I was just on Nardil?

You are under close supervision by a dr I hope? Thats a little risky to switch so soon like that. I have read that, I'll have to look it back up again since I cant remember exactly, parnate hinders nardils ability if youve used it in recent past or the other way around...have to check again.

well, a lot of what they are doing is the same thing, so its likely you can' get around a tolerance problem by switching. agree that 60mg parnate is too much if you don't washout (its actually quite a lot, even if you did). and 'close supervisoun' by a doctor isn't going to make it safer. and i think i am have unusually liberal ideas on maoi switching. did you think of augmenting?

People very often respond well to one MAOI after failing treatment with another. I originally felt very well after Parnate pooped-out by going to Nardil. The reason that Marplan was brought back to market after its discontinuation is because so many people responded to this MAOI whom had failed treatment with the others. Patients and doctors alike lobbied for this to happen.
2. I agree with DesolationRower. There is no such thing as close supervision for the occurence of a paroxsysmal stroke.

>I Have never relied on close supervision, just came out of hospital where they can't even take an acurate blood preasure. I closely supervise myself, & my shrink did say he reckons its just like changing the amines, & I spoke to another smart dude on another board who reckons its ok aslong as the two maoi's dont compete,,,, I check my BP all the time, my plan was to keep alternating between the 2 and I think I am starting to feel better now maybe even try and importing some Marplan into the mix.
With all the chronic side effects though complete flatulance / anorgasmia I can't control. Horny goat weed would be suicide.
I have Cialias it helps a tiny bit. Could anyone please give my a psycobabble link or to on anorgasmia or maybe a few tips...Respect.
