Hi to all!
I will be starting on an maoi in a couple of weeks. I've read up on Parnate, Nardil, Ensam and Marplan. Does anyone have an opinion on these? I've pretty much ruled out Nardil (parnate seems to outrate Nardil) and Ensam (to expensive), not so sure about Marplan. I also read in the diet restrictions about protein powders. I am a vegetarian and rely alot on whey protein. Is it just because some protein powders contain yeast, soy and aminos like tyramine and tryptophan or is it something to do with the protein itself? Would switching to a rice protein powder be better? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, CS

Whey protein powders are okay with MAOIs(from both personal experience and web research).

It is safe to take. Sometimes there is confusion because protein powders have tyrosine, and this gets confused with tyramine.
