Desperate Immediate help for tomorrow seriously.

Posted by Phillipa on December 24, 2008, at 13:54:43

To others this will probably sound ridiculous but I keep getting more tired daily and lowering benzos and anyway drinking two bottles of green teas daily two bottles of water no meds during the day. Can't get out of bed til 11:30am and must be up, bathroom, breakfast wash hair, blow it, eye makeup and dress and be in the car by l0. Seriously how can I do it as have to drive with husband 4 hours to make Christmas dinner at lpm. I'm not even awake now. Please someone know how to pull this off. Can't ruin day for everyone else. Pretty please? Love Phillipa ps bathroom long time cystocele.

Phillipa, do you have an outside ailment (flu) at the moment, or is it stress that's causing the fatigue?

Best, Rick

Well if you're not taking medications when they should be taken that will get things off schedule. But you also stay up late at night. And that sounds like a fair amount of water -- watch for drinking too much.

But when it all comes down to it, its not callous, but merely simple. Go to bed EARLY.

You can't correct your sleep cycle in one day so that's the only thing I can recommend.
You might be too groggy to take Unisom (doxylamine formation) the first time so I'm not sure that's a good idea.

Don't stay up and use the computer. If you toss in bed, its not fatal. Sleep will come eventually. Deep breathe.

I think there's psychological reasons that could be behind some of this, holiday stress, your family, but I don't really think its a good idea to go and explore that all in depth right now.

Don't panic at each juncture and push yourself (gently) at what you have to do. Make a list beforehand if you need to remember or do anything or you may raise your anxiety and panic later.

And above all, have a good holiday, and when I say that, I mean a good holiday. If you go into it all viewing it mountainous and catastrophic, that's all it will be.

Enjoy the moment for what it is and be careful on the road, your safety is more important than anything else.

-- best wishes

Jay

Have you tried cold showers (therapy)?

Stimulates your mood while decreasing anxiety and also helps with endorphin levels.

seriously---I have used cold water to wake me up for 25 years. I take a hot shower as usual---but right before I'm ready to get out of the shower---the very last thing I do is turn off the hot water completely and stand under the cold water for as long as I can--it's a lot faster than caffine, it's free, and so far I've never had a side effect. It's also good to build up your self discipline. Some folks in modern society can't be bothered by anything that remotely makes them uncomfortable---but will take a pill for anything. Surely it won't hurt to give it a try--just once--and don't cheat! :)

It's fun when you do it, once you get used to it.
You can switch from hot to very cold, and after a number of goes of each, the body heat seems drawn inside and you no longer feel the cold.
And when you get out you feel really warm.
I'd do it in Tasmania in the winter where the cold water was reliably freezing.

What you really need is a sauna and after some of that, go and roll in the snow, like the Siberians do.
That would take your mind off whatever it had been worrying about.
