Questions, questions, questions for SLS

Scott:

First of all, loved the post "The Stakes Are Too High." You are such a blessing for this board.

If you have time, and I know many would be interested, I was wondering if could go over your meds and mention how you arrived at each one. I know you've listed them, but I've always been curious to how you arrived at each one. I think many of us could learn a lot on how you approached each one, even if none of them are for us.

Thanks for all you do, Michael

It usually takes me 10-11 weeks to feel the full effects on Nardil. Did it take you as long?

How do you know if the Nardil is working? I am having daytime sedation and trouble staying asleep. Did you deal with the same issues?

And some ppl say that if you feel Nardil's side effects, that means it is working. Do you believe that to be true?

Thanks, Michael

You are welcome.

I am going to need some time to collect my thoughts. I'm not sure how to answer your questions with enough resolution to make myself understood. Making the three lists helps. Nardil and nortriptyline were partially effective as monotherapy. Adding them together was a no brainer as I had done extremely well on a combination of Parnate and desipramine the first time around. Nortriptyline and Lamictal maintained a mild positive response when added together. Adding Effexor to this helped even more.

Each outcome to different therapies yields information.

My computer crashed yesterday, and I'm still in the process of setting it up again, so I am distracted at the moment.

I'll try to put together a synopsis of decision making later.
