nefazodone early waking problem

Posted by scruffy on May 26, 2008, at 8:00:22

Hey All,

I'm on 300mg / day of Nefazodone HCL. I take 150mg in the AM and 150 in the PM. With both doses I notice a rebound effect 5 to 6 hours after I take the dose, where my agitation increases for a few hours. Not a problem during the day, but it wakes me up at 500am every day like clockwork.

I'm somewhat medication sensitive, but wonder if others have had this problem as well. I know Nefazodone has a shorter half life, which may have something to do with it.

If you have had this problem, has it gone away? Did you find a workaround?

I like the drug otherwise, but need my 8-9 hours of sleep to function well.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi that's serzone right? How do you like it as an ad? Any liver enzyme problems as it was presciribed for me and I was afraid of that but had no side effects. Do you know the action of it as thought it was like an antihistamine. Sorry couldn't answer the question but it was supposed to help me sleep. Love Phillipa
