Weird Stuff/Nardil

Posted by Justherself54 on March 7, 2008, at 10:24:55

Strange stuff happening..day before yesterday I felt the need for a nap..ended up sleeping from 3 til 6..yesterday same thing, ended up sleeping from 6 to 10 pm!, and still slept through the nite..both nites I didn't use the nozinan, just my regular dose of zopiclone..this is weird, as I'm usually pretty energetic all day..and such long naps..I haven't napped for years..

I know I'm under more stress than normal as I'm selling my house and moving to the city, and have had more racing thoughts and anxiety..just can't figure this long napping thing out..I have too much to do! I can't nap my days away right now..

Is something happening with the Nardil? Could it have something to do with stopping seroquel..any feedback greatly appreciated..

My doctor said the MAOIs make you sleepy in the afternoon. He didn't say why exactly. I take Marplan and noticed I also get tired around 2 or 3. Thank goodness my 4 year old still naps!

Thanks Brooke for your response!

I've been doing a lot of painting in my house (12 foot ceilings, 8 foot ladder)..I think I exhausted myself and had a fibro flare..and my body just said "that's enough", it was just so weird to sleep for so long during the day..not like me at all, but it's now making sense..I have so much energy on Nardil, I forget that my fibro will bite me on the patootie if I don't pay attention to it.

Naps are good. You may need more sleep with the med changes, along with stress, other physical conditions. If you can't afford that long a nap, just set the alarm for an hour or two at the most and get the benefits anyway.

I have a bad cold and I've been napping on and off all day. No guilt. I think if more people took naps there would be less illness and disability.

Today work environments are implementing naptime to increase productivity since so many people do not get enough sleep at night.

How long do you sleep at night? Maybe you are not getting enough sleep then?

I take a half dose of provigil, 100mg, as needed. It fights fatigue, but doesn't make me jittery. You might ought to try it.

Please, if you don't mind my asking, when did Nardil start "working" for you? I am on it, 15 days, hard to notice anything positive.

Thanks -
