Cymbalta and Wellbutrin SR

Posted by Maxime on February 27, 2008, at 21:07:10

Hello!

I am back from the dead ... truly.

I am now on 60 mg of Cymbalta and 300 mg on Wellbutrin. How long does it for the Cymbalta to work?

Thanks.

I've been through *a lot* whilst I was blocked from Babble. I took a serious OD and ended up at the hospital. The nurses/docs thought they had everything under control until ... I went into cardiac arrest. I woke up with a breathing tube going down my throat. They had to work on me for long time. I spent several days in the ICU and then one day on the psych unit.

Finally I had it right, but since I went to the hospital I was saved. Maybe I wanted to be saved? Or a small part of me at least.

I am grateful that my mind is still in one piece and not damaged. For days after the attempt I was having CRAZY hallucinations and I could barely speak because I was mixing up my words. I thought I was damaged goods forever!

Anyhow, that is how I spent my "blocked for 2 weeks".

Maxime,

I think you really DO want to live. I think you just want to stop hurting. I'm glad you made it to the hospital in time. Why did they let you out so quick after such a serious attempt? Will they now at least get you into more therapy?

MB, the hospital doesn't want to see me anymore. They say that because I am borderline, that being in the hospital is not the place for me (cause if I am borderline then I must be seeking attention). You know, I have to say that it is possible I was seeking attention from *my brother*. That I had no other way to tell him. He was at our house the night I took the OD.

No more therapy from the psychologist at the hospital. I am test driving two right now. So expensive!!!

Hi Maxime...

Sorry to hear you had such a horrific time. That doesn't really even scratch the surface, but I hope you know what I mean. A couple of things I ask, because I've been through a lot of similar things in the past 15 or so years on meds. One, would you consider a mood stabilizer, such as a small dose of an atypical antipsychotic like Risperdal? I think along with the Wellbutrin and Cymbalta, it would REALLY 'smoothen' your moods, and your overall daily feelings, out. I am just going by the feeling that you had a bit of a possible manic reaction with your Cymbalta, and the block on here was a trigger. Let me know what you think.

Thanks,
Jay

I do take an atypical antipsychotic ... seroquel, 200 mg.

The block on here ... I felt isolated. If it were not for a couple of people here who kept in touch, then I would have lost it. I still lost it, but then I got it back! LOL!

No mania or hypomania... just depressed and suicidal.

Maxime
