Emsam and SWEATING

Posted by satsumas on February 28, 2008, at 9:45:32

Hi there,
Been on Emsam for 2.5 months now, the 12mg for 1 month. Seemingly somewhat effective though there are so many other changes my life (mostly negative or at the minimum anxiety-inducing) that it is really hard to tell. Besides the insomnia, the biggest side effect I have begun to notice has been intense SWEATING when i'm in social or anxious situations. Even if the room is a normal temperature, and especially if it is a few degrees above, I start to sweat on my forehead scalp. Its to a point that I have to wipe my brow or i will start dripping.

This is completely "not good" and is making me more anxious about social situatious. It happened during a date recently and I feel this could potentially negate some of the benefits of the Emsam.

Is this a common problem, and is there anything I can do about it? It seems to just be my forehead taht starts seating, though my body does feel flushed. I don't sweat on my body though, just the scalp/forehead.

What to do!?!?!/

Parnate made me sweat a lot under normal conditions. If I was exercising, I had to keep myself very hydrated.

I think it is just a side effect, and I don't know if there is something you can take with it. I wonder if a beta blocker would help?
