LAMICTAL- WORK BLOOD TEST

Posted by 1000songs on February 25, 2008, at 20:34:45

Hi,
My sister (20) suffers from BPD and she is taking 100mg.Lamictal and 0.5 mg.Clonazepan.
She got a job interview and they asked her to get a blood test. In the blood test instructions they request that she disclose what medicines she is taking.
What should she say????
How should she justify it?
She is having the test tomorrow morning...
Thank you very much!

They cant deny her because of a mental condition. Just tell the truth.

She will be ok. Just answer the questions truthfully. Her medicines are prescribed by a physician so if anything is said she has a legitimate reason.

GoodLuck! :)

They probably just want to know what she takes so they don't overreact if something shows up on the test. If she has a therapist, I would tell her to ask that person's advice since, even though discrimination isn't allowed, it definitely can happen. There's always a way to find a 'more qualified' candidate. But I would say that she should be fine. She doesn't necessarily need to disclose her diagnosis - if they ask for a reason, she could just say for mental health reasons that won't affect my ability to do the job, if that's the truth.

Good luck to her,
sunnydays

Thank you so much for your answers!
I forwarded your feedback to my sister.
Hopefully she'll get the job. :)
