SLS

I used to post here a lot. Looks like back in 2004. Also looks like I have the same problems only worse.

I recognized your posting name and looked up some old posts. I saw andrewb and you both helped me a lot.

You were a great help. Wanted to email this or private message but anyway thanks.

Perhaps you can be of assistance once again.

Not sure what I could do for you.

My memory is so much worse I did not remember trying some of the medications I decided to try now,

Looked up amineptine. All the posts are generally about it not being available anymore. I just wanted to find reports of people who had used it. Thoughts of trying again.

Well this was more to say hello again.
I used to go by iris. Could not seem to update my email so registered again as okydoky.

Talk to you soon

Okydoky...

I know you are interested in pro-dopaminergic drugs.

Sometimes, Abilify can act as a dopamine system stabilizer (DSS). It attaches to dopamine receptors, but only incompletely blocks them. In fact, Abilify has dopamine receptor agonist properties as well. The thought is that its agonist versus antagonist properties emerge at a ratio that is dependent on the concentration of dopamine within the synapse.

Too little dopamine - Abilify acts more as an agonist. Antidepressant.

Too much dopamine - Abilify acts more like an antagonist. Antipsychotic.

Geodon has antidepressant and energizing properties too, although its rate of success in depression has not been quantified.

Amisulpride, I'm sure you know about.

Do you have any bipolar traits?

I took amisulpride for several months with some minimal success. It was the last drug I tried.Had problems went to the doc and had my hormones "prolactin" checked. He said it was if I were pregnant and lactating. Took months to get regular again and of course my body never went back to "normal" But that is not of great concern.

I remember looking at Geodon before I stopped trying medications.

I'll check out Abilify.

Never any bipolar at all. Borderline stuff a little. I see a lot of adhd stuff. Totally disorganized. No focus. But the focus and concentration stuff is newer in my life. Years ago when I was in college I did fine. Now I tried to take a course and cannot concentrate or remember anything.

I'm trying amineptine again. Started tonight. I saw that the last time I tried it I had problems with my bladder disease . But the first time it worked so well I thought it was well worth trying again.
I am on a lot of other medications now that I need to make sure mix with anything I might take.
If you are intereted let me know. This is a long post. Kind of you to be helpful and inquire but I don't want to abuse you

Hope all is well with you,

okydoky

I see in another post you mentioned Lamactil. I began it for such a short time a few weeks ago I cannot remember why I stopped it. Probably afraid because my urologist prescribed it and he was afraid. He prescribes Lyrica and it does wonders for a very specific pain I have but I get terrible side effects. It causes extreme depression that lasts for weeks sometimes. He seemed to think there is some similarity with lamactil so he thought I should try it. He printed like 20 pages for me and showed me all the "black boxes" What do you know of this drug?

One other question. Have you any knowledge of these noorotropics" like Picamilon an lots of others?

Just found another paper I was looking at Dostinex and pramipexole I think both are in the class of drugs you were talking about.

Oh he** I guess I have a million questions but they will have to wait. Patience is not my best virtue!
