Calm down it is not an antipsychotic it's a natural salt everyone has some in their body. Some people don't have enough so you take it and they messure your blood level to make sure it's not too much. Nothing to fear and it will settle you down. Breathe in and out slowly. Think pleasant thoughts. Phillipa

It's really smooth. I'm sure your dr. will
put you on it gradually. If you are agitated,
you will feel peaceful and clear-headed. Dose
is everything on this drug, and the thyroid
should be monitored so you don't get too sluggish.
Lithium has its priveleges.

What do you mean by this!? I feel kind of offended. I dont suffer bipolar (as far as I'm aware) but am currently deeply depressed.

Sorry, that should have read:

"Bipolars rule, unipolars drule" Maybe NAMI
can manufacture a T-shirt. Yes, bipolars are
a conceited lot, always giving examples of the
great bipolar geniuses in history, lol. Don't buy it.

Yup - needle, but they are very good at not hurting now-- i just look away. Also the blood test decreases with time, to once a year or more after your body is used to the right amount.

I'm scared of anything being put into my body, except food, water and air, and the last one is getting pretty ominous too.

hope it goes well for you;

Please be sensitive to the feelings of others, such as those with a diagnosis of unipolar depression, by not posting anything that could lead them to feel put down.

If you or others have questions about this or about posting policies in general, or are interested in alternate ways of expressing yourself, please see the FAQ: http://www.dr-bob.org/babble/faq.html#civil

Follow ups regarding these issues should be directed to Admin, and should of course, be civil. Dr. Bob has oversight over deputy decisions, and he may choose a differnt action.

It's a joke. I don't really believe that unipolars drool anymore than anybody else. I am sorry i hurt your feelings. I have known unipolars who actually have xerostomia from their meds.
