I used to take a high dose of zoloft (125 MGS). had side effects, and gained quite a bit of weight (125 MGS). Bottom line... Zoloft works for me better than any of the other SSRIS. I am going back on it, but at a lower dose (between 25-50 as the literature says there is not necessarily any more of a beneficial effect beyond 50 MGS as there is 80 percent reuptake inhibition at such a dose). Will a lower dose reduce some of the weight gain issues? I know I'll probably put on some weight, and I accept that... but will I pile on the weight like I did before? Is the amount of weight gain dose dependent upon the medication?

I've been on Zoloft more than a couple of times with dosages up to 200 mg..it didn't seem to matter what dose I still "carb craved"..and put on a pile of weight..however, if it didn't poop out on me all the time, I would still be on it..it was the best of the SSRI's for me..
