My med cocktail is pretty close to right. Currently I am taking Provigil instead of a stimulant. It does a fablous job of waking me the hell up but it doesn't touch the focus and conentration. I have tried all stimulants before with various issues. Adderall worked the best but it made me meaner than I already am. That was at a high dose. Has anyone found that they have less problems with a lower dose. Of course I still want it to work. Can't handle Focalin. Dexedrine makes it so I can't sleep. That leaves me with Ritalin in one of it's forms.
Guess I'd just like to hear any kind of info that you guys have on Adderall. Maybe a way to overcome the anger? I'm on a mood stabilizer now so maybe the anger wouldn't be so much of an issue?

I would give the adderall a try with the mood stabilizer. You will probably need a lower dose of adderall and I know my mood stabilizer greatly helps my moodiness.

Focalin made me sad/depressed. Dexedrine was insomnia and the different versions of Ritalin make me feel "speedy" or comatose but not focused like Adderall. Hope I can make it work!

i am presently taking adderall 10mgx3
i take doses about 3 hours apart
small doses of an AD every few days seem to help me from being too mean

I have been put on adderall on three seperate occasions. I have had the same results each time so I don't think I'll ever go back on it:
1. At first, I feel like I can do SO much work..stay at work for long hours, not even having to take a lunch break or anything. I'm on top of the world (I am normally easily distracted and very, very disorganized..it has cost be a lot in life..I'm 27 BTW). I also have a clean house and my calendar is full of activity.
2. After a few months, I find a need to go up on my dose..first 10 mg..then usually up to 30 or 40 mg. I am easily irritated and have anxiety (I also have severe depression and anxiety on and off.. and am on Wellbutrin).
3. FINALLY, I have been on the adderall for about 6 months and I am PARANOID. I can't feel "awake" without it and it makes me function normally but I shake, etc. I stop taking it. I am depressed and detached... (I'm there now)..Bottom line - You can't be on synthetic METH your whole life. Just like an addictive drug, it is the BEST EVER at first but then it will cause problems. I have also developed a heart murmer from it.
I wish I could take adderall because I hate being unproductive. THe Wellbutrin will work again once I get through the "detox" from Adderall.
Well, good luck. Just don't stay on that stuff for too long. It really is like coke/meth..

I take 40mg Adderall XR in the morning to augment a combination of Remeron (30mg) and Lexapro (10mg). It works well for me. Regular Adderall is a little too intense and short-acting for me. Ritalin isn't intense enough and far too short-acting. Provigil didn't do a thing and cost a fortune. I recommend the Adderall XR, at least for AD augmentation. I don't have ADHD so I can't address that usage.

Trileptal. 600mg
Lexapro 20mg
Seroquel 25mg for sleep
