I started taking Seroquel May 29, 2007 and yes I am soooo hungry at night its crazy insane. I think your prescribing doctor can help with that. Other than that has anyone had panic attack issues with this medicine? I have and it feels like a heart attack that scares me.

I take a low dose at nite..and I remember when I first started it I was scared out of my mind..since switching to Parnate I don't get the nite munchies anymore..

I remember my heart racing at night for a couple of nights and that scared the poop out of me, but it did stop after 3 or 4 nights..it really has helped me..

Seroquel must effect bipolars differently than unipolars as when given it my head fell in my lap and I almost fainted. Taken off it the next day. Love Phillipa ps that a new one to me never heard of panic attacks on seroquel?

I took a low dose for several months, and then 300 mg at bedtime for several months.

I noticed slight increase in munchies with low dose, and gained about a pound a week with the high dose.

For about the first 3 weeks on the high dose I felt good. when I was awake, which was about 10 hours a day. Pdoc told me that the sedation would go away, and what do you know? after about 3-4 weeks the sedation was minimal, except for the first 2 hours after taking it. - warning. do not drive while seroquelled. don't even post on babble while seroquelled. lol

-Ll

hope it helps you lots. helped me just fine, except for the weight gain side effect :(

When do you get panic attacks? Is it right after the seroquel dose, with in say 2-4 hours. Or the next day? Seroquel has a short half life. So you may need to take a second dose in the morning or afternoon. If the panic attacks happen in the first few hours, its the medicine, and you might consider a different one.

antipsychotics can induce panic attacks

I don't know if its common, but it happens: antipsychotics can induce anxiety and social withdrawal and panic attacks, more commonly w/ older meds and higher doses, but...it could happen with anything, really. Blocking dopamine really screws some people up, whereas other people seem to benefit from the newer antipsychotics. Personally, I'd avoid antipsychotics unless you are psychotic, and try to find a different type of medication to deal with your problems.
