Tip on W.D

My first drug was effexxor, given to me with little knowledge of what it was,or anything else, just told take it and id feel better in 2 weeks.

Well obviously that wasnt the case, and after voice mails UNRETURNED,and my doc getting smart to my father,i mutualy FIRED my doc as he also as i doubt would have taken me after the threat i made to him.I was high strung, upset on the unreturned calls, upset about my mind going insane and the shot at my father was the last straw so i kinda jumped at him.

Anyway point is i was on my on,there was very little info about effexor and withdrawal, this was the time when ssris were touted as the safest thing on earth.

So what was happening to me? I was off the drug and felt i was going insane, brain zaps, loss of emotion and sense of person, mind a blank grey page,i had no clue.

So what i did,and this might help some people,is well it sounds silly but get urself a good video game, even if u dont play them, try it,youd be surprised, and let urself become obsesses with it,playing this one game kept my mind occupied and helped regain some cognitive function,i made it through WD to at least get on a different med,but i did it with no benzos,or tools or support or knowing what it was, looking back now id have used all these to help, but a simple video game helped me make it through, just a recomendation, some games can be quite addictive.

the only problem is when you're so far gone, you can't even focus long enough to play a game. My choice was to sleep. Sleeping for many hours at a time isn't fun and pretty much sucks, but that's how I got through.

Ive slept through entire pit holes too,and a single phone call from a friend, reassuring me to not worry about the sleep and DOWNTIME that my body was dealing with a issue and it wasnt me just giving up,reversed my thinking and i was able to accept the lentghy sleep periods, amazing how if said right the power one can have in suppot.

I agree though everyone might have there own little nitch of getting by a hard time as they wait to see a doc.
