Has anyone tried many antidepressants to no avail for depression and then tried Parnate and it worked. SSRI's used to work for me and then I went off them and when I went back on them they nolonger worked. I need a new alternative and wonder about Parnate. If Parnate has really helped you please give me some insight into how it has worked for you. thanks

Parnate may help, thought most consider Nardil to be the more effective MAOI.

MAOIs have a history of success in treating depression and anxiety. After all, they have been around 50 years and would have been long gone if they did not have any effectiveness.
Ideally, Parnate is for people who need a more energizing med, while Nardil is supposed to have a more calm effect, considered better for anxiety-induced depression.
If you go to the bottom of this page, and do a search for "Parnate" and "Nardil" and "experiences" you will find literally hundreds of posts on people taking these MAOIs. Good luck, Michael
