I bought paper acid once that was bunk. It sucks when you gotta sit there and think 'Is it kicking in?', but sadly the answer is no.

Yes

I think the issue of "Fake drugs on the net" is some what Exagerated!

Having said that I wouldn't order anything from India.
Indian drug producers seem to be extremely Dodgy as we say in the UK

It always seems a bit odd to me that the British NHS buys a lot of drugs from India-because they're cheap!

I dont think the US gets much of anything from the US. Cheap labor over seas.

check the drug company's web sites and go to their manufacturing locations. Most have plants in places where labor is cheaper. The nice thing in the USA, all drugs produced overseas must have incpections by the FDA before they can be sold in the USA. Wyeth's just had one of their overseas plants closed down by the FDA, that is suppose to make the new Effexor. They expect to fix the problems in time for the FDA to reinspect it to start making new Effexor (Pristig) around the time the drug gets final marketing approval.

Stablon from India is OK...what I've had of it.

I did buy some cabergoline from there (now that I think of it) that didn't seem to do much.

I wouldn't read too much into that, most drugs I've had on prescription have had no effect like they should have had. I've ordered meds online for years and have never received a batch of faulty goods, and they've always been good about re-shipping orders seized by customs.

I think it's slightly ridiculous that UK GPs get preachy about the dangers of getting counterfeit drugs when buying online given that you will likely get a packet from the same batch from your local pharmacy who has also been buying them on the cheap from India to keep within it's budget. My uncle has been getting aspirin to thin his blood for five years and has yet to get a pack from the same manufacturer for two months in a row.

Dunno, but we get alot of our military supplies from other countries. (I suppose its fair if some other countries get bombs from us...like Iraq.) Anyhoo I wouldnt be suprised if the US gets thier drugs from some african babies making them. Sorry, the subject sort of eats at me.

I've had great luck with Indian Meds

I've ordered most of my meds from India for years and never received anything that wasn't OK or in any way seemed suspect.

One thing that was mentioned above was cabergoline. I ordered some from there and I know it was the real deal because I had my prolactin levels tested before and after and I saw the expected supression. Of course it's very possible that some counterfeit drugs do come from there.

I did get a counterfeit batch of (expensive in the USA) antifungals from Thailand once. It was very strange because in the same order I also had another med which was actually a brand-name (and not a generic like I expected) and I could tell from the effect that this other med was genuine.

I think the whole counterfit med thing is blown way out of proportion by the FDA, etc in order to help protect the domestic drug manufacturers.

Here's a rule of thumb about trying to tell if a med is genuine. Don't look for the effect, but rather look for the side effects. If you have treatment resistant depression (or treatment resistant anything) then the meds that you order may not help with your depression. On the other hand, when you take a new med look at the side effects that you feel and look them up in the PDR to see if those are reasonable side effects from the med.
