prozac

Posted by Amandafran on January 10, 2007, at 18:50:22

I havent been on this site in a while but I have a question. Does Prozac at 80 mg cause euphoric feelings? Like a spaced out feeling? I got that feeling when I took Ativan and yet I was just wondering if increasing my dosage would produce that feeling?

I am trying to find a medicine that will "numb" me out just beacuse I am going through so much in my life and I feel like I am just going though the motions. I tried to get in with my T today and he couldnt work me in...but my Psychiatrist upped my dosage to 80 from 40 mg . I just need to feel at ease and if prozac at that dosage can provide it then I am happy. (isnt this sounding horrible) I dont h ave a drug problem and Im NOT in denial but I need some relief and nothing NOTHING I have taken is giving me relief...I want to actually be able to feel that I am getting relief...any suggestions or advice would be great... Im really hurting.
thanks.

I don't think it will cause euphoria. Some people may have this effect transiently, but it is not too common.

If you're just going through the motions then aren't you numb as it is? Wouldn't you like to feel more like yourself.

No, everbody diserves to feel at ease.

>I dont h ave a drug problem and Im NOT in denial >but I need some relief and nothing NOTHING I >have taken is giving me relief...

You might be able to find releif without feeling euphoric. What medications have you tried?

If you feel too numb, you may be on too much SSRI. Sometimes when a SSRI dose is too high, apathy can result.

I am also taking requip along with everything else under the sun that I am taking and my Pdoc told me that it would make the abilify that I take work less....well, I have been on the requip for a week now and just today ..TODAY...had a melt down and had to go see my T. I have been having feelings of rage and anger for no reason and today I snapped and got all emotional. My question is this...what else is there to take for RLS (restless legs) Is this something I should see a neurologist for? M aybe he has something stronger I could take???

I Just found out that I have this but I am on Prozac, abilify, lamictal and lunesta...

Any thoughts and ideas would be great. I have a great neurologist but I dont know if this is in his realm of expertise...you know?
