Wellbutrin

Three weeks on Wellbutrin (2x150mg SR) together with Remeron and Zoloft, no response. Any point to continue?

Hi Mattias

Contrary to popular belief, I have read that Wellbutrin does not 'kick in' more rapidly than other ADs. If you are tolerating it well, I would recommend that you continue it for a couple more weeks.

I agree Ed. I took a long time being able to cope with 300mg Wellbutrin. Now after many weeks I seem to have my energy back, even though there is a tendency to insomnia with W. I use Xanax for breakthrough anxiety. And it's true, against my will I've given up pipe-smoking. Pity. It just feels pointless to smoke Fred

Thanks for your encouraging replies. Oddly enough, I have had more energy today and I got a lot of things done, this was after I posted. I have also raised Zoloft dosage to 100mg. I will continue with it.

taking it for depression I imagine? I take Wellbutrin SR 100mg in am and 200mg in pm. It has helped depression but has done nothing for my anxiety (which I view as more of a problem than my depression). Who has prescribed you the 2 meds? Internist or psychiatrist? Remeron was horrible for me, gained nearly 50 pounds. Serzone, if still available, was a good med for depression. My doc took me off of it because of a drug interaction.

Wellbutrin can make you more anxious and can make it very difficult to fall asleep. If you are taking 200mg at night no wonder you are having trouble sleeping!

I think I'm putting on weight. You're supposed to lose weight on W. Trust me to be different

i wonder why my doc wrote it for that...100mg qam and 200mg qpm. Guess that don't teach that in Fillipino medical school.

Thats Filipino and I'm not sure where you live but there are quite a number working as nurses in the US... I don't think we need foray down that road... Might even be someone from Manila on here.

But yes, Wellbutrin/SR/XR is better in the morning for most people. Different people respond to stimulating medications. For some it may be what they need, but its harsh for mixed depression and anxiety.

I could tolerate SR for a while but eventually it set my head on fire almost literally, eczema or the like I think too -- bad OC garbage thoughts trying to sleep.
