Tell about your experiences with ENSAM

Efficacy? Side effects?
I'd like to try ENSAM, because I've tried almost everything.

There are lots of other threads with people's experiences with EMSAM. I put mine in this post: http://www.dr-bob.org/babble/20060701/msgs/664047.html

I just went up to the 9mg patch (actually patch and a half of the 6mg) 2 days ago so I'm waiting to see how that goes.

Also, if you scroll up, there is a thread "Emsam Survey: When did it kick in for you?" where ZeitGuest was collecting people's input. http://www.dr-bob.org/babble/20060701/msgs/665341.html

I know that cecilia had trouble connecting, I suspect because she is a Mac user and Google Spreadsheets will not play nice with Apple's Safari browser. If Mac users use the Firefox browser (available here: http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/) instead of Safari, they should have no trouble accessing the spreadsheet.

Here's how:

1) Go to http://tinyurl.com/en9rg

2) Enter the following email address and password in the Google sign-in section on the right:

Email: emsampatch@yahoo.com
Password: babble

3) Click the Sign In button.

Well, I always need huge amounts of everything. It's kind of charming reading these posts and hearing people say that they're gingerly making the switch from the 6mg to the 9mg patch.

I was prescribed a month of 6 and a month of 12. I did the 6mg for one day, then went to the 12. That was too fast and made me hypomanic and irritable. So then, on the advice of Mr. Expensive Office Furniture, I alternated the two strengths--a day of 6mg, then a day of 12mg. I did this for four days. Then I went to the 12mg and **never** **looked** **back.**

(Pardon the breezy tone of this post; I'm feeling punchy.)

Well, it works! I know it'll stop working, as they all do, eventually, but I've been on this for seven weeks, and I feel great. No jitters. Some--I don't want to say "sleep trouble"--more like "absolutely no need for sleep." I just take my Seroquel at bedtime, and that handles that.

EMSAM is as powerful for me as Remeron was, and that puts it in a class way above every other AD. Prozac, for example, is very pretty with its soft green and yellow capsules, but *all* the SSRIs are so ineffective for me I may as well make a mosaic of Prozac capsules on the wall with Krazy Glue.

I've been on it for 5 weeks (the 6 mg. dose) and it works very well for me. A very nice/gentle antidepressant effect. Only side effect for me is early morning awakening (no biggie) i still get 5-6 hrs of sleep a night, and have been told by pdoc this should diminish over time. I also take Klonopin 3 mgs daily as need. I feel good, am able to enjoy life, i'm very social (actually crave social interaction) which is a great feeling as i have social anxiety disorder. Libido is great..overall i think i feel better than i have in 10 yrs. I'd say give it a try, it might just work for you, and you won't know inless you try it...i wish you all the best.
