struggle with benzo addiction

Posted by helpme on July 5, 2006, at 9:02:08

I use up my prescription too fast, and suffer withdrawal each month. I've been warned I'd be cut off cold if i ever do it again- but it's addictive and I have such a high tolerance that I can take 8 -10mg klonopin and stay awake for hours doing things. I have very violent nightmares and a severe fear of sleep; I take it in effort to sleep as well. 2 mg is undetectable for me. I can take that and go to work, the gym, socialize, etc. I've been using this stuff for about 4-5 years. So now I'm almost out again and have over two weeks to go. Has anyone had this problem, what did you do? I would like to get off the rollercoaster altogether, but I have high anxiety and it is so hard. During the withdrawal, my chest gets so tight I can hardly breath, and I feel absolutely paranoid, no sleep, see bugs scutteling, etc. Are there natural supplements than can help me ease off- other strategies, anything over the counter? Should I look into rehab? WHERE? I don't want to go to a psych hospital because I know firsthand how barbaric, judgemental, and heinous they are. Where do folks like Kate Moss go for their cushy rehabs?
