I have a feeling that it is illegal for me to purchase deprenyl online to ship to Canada, but I am unsure. It is a prescription product here.
Why are there so many online stores that will ship it to Canada without prescription.
I know I have asked questions such as this before, but I am not really sure who to ask, or where to go for definitive answers.

I'm not really trying to do something illegal, I'm really just wondering where I can go to find out the legalities of such issues.

I did a quick search and noticed that deprenyl has been approved for canine cushings disease in Canada. Do you have a dog that needs a mental lift? (just kidding).
I don't know the Canadian rules and I'm not encouraging anything, but I've ordered meds online many times over the years (including from Canada) and never had any problem. It was usually because I had no doctor or no insurance, or the med was not available here.

I'm a Canadian as well.. If u dont mind me asking, why do u want to import deprenyl? I'm sure u can find a doc in the canadian health care system to prescribe it to u...From my experience, its easy to get meds into canada.. i imported tianeptine with no problem... i wish i could help u about the legality but i dont know any specifics...

It's OK in Australia, at least I've been doing it for years without any trouble at all. The rationale might be that since deprenyl citrate is unavailable by prescription here, it's OK to import 3 months worth. (But I've imported the HCl too)
I know for certain that Hydergine and vinpocetine are OK.
It might be that 'dangerous drugs' or drugs already available by script should not be imported. Oherwise 3 months worth is OK.
But I have a doctor who would back me up, if neccessary.

It's legal in the US to buy prescription drugs from online pharmacies without a prescription as long as it's 3 months worth or less, i.e. for 'personal use'. I'm not sure about Canada though. Doctors do in fact write rx's for drugs not available in the US and have them imported, but again you don't need them to do this. I did it with tianeptine without an rx, but with my doctor's knowledge and approval. The US does have a list of online pharmacies that are 'on watch' or something like that, which means they sell things like schedule I drugs and such. Go to one of those and you'll probably be blocked. All this information is from the US government website so I'm sure you can find it on the Canadian equivalent if you haven't already.

I know your a intelligent, well-speaking dude... see a pdoc or get referred to one by a GP... bring ur research in and explain ur rational and they'll be hardpressed to say no... i used to have some serious sway over my first pdoc using this method... try it, it works!

Its all just been dead ends. I suppose I am seeing the wrong doctors.
I've made the suggestion before, but it has never amounted to anything.
I've seen many psychiatrists, but the ones I see like to be in control.

No, I think I found the answer to my question, that it is indeed illegal for me to make this purchase.
I figured as much, I just didn't quite understand with the sheer volume of online sites offering this one alongside other nootropics without prescription.

Link, Psychiatrists are not the right kind of doctors. You want a nutritional doctor. My nutritional doctor prescribes deprenyl and takes it himself. He's a specialist, but around here there are lots of GPs who practice that kind of medicine and they would Rx it. But they would probably recommend the citrate, which you would have to import anyway.

It's easy to order it if you want it. Worse thing that will happen is that customs will seize your order.

Link, If you want to try this medication you can find a way to get it one way or the other. It may require some creativity, but you are not at the mercy of your doctors.

I'm 53, and I don't think I had a doctor I really clicked with until 20 or 5 years ago, kind of. And it's better being a patient being older because the doctors are neccessarily more resigned and less hopeful for you. So I know what you mean, Link.

It just seems to be roadblock after roadblock. Even my home doctor takes a look at my patient history and won't do anything. He says, you need to be in the hands of a professional.
Oh I'm sure its possable for me to get some, but I don't want to start something that I can't get a steady supply of.
I don't know why I continue to go. I guess its just to keep my foot in the door, incase something good comes my way.
