Anybody having any luck just on Zoloft?

If so how much and how long did it take you to see results?

Having a miserable day what with work, family and general depression.

My second cousin is on Zoloft, as is my husband's sister and her girlfriend. All of them responded well to it and have been on it for years, maintenance, quite happily.

Hi,
I had a very good response to Zoloft that lasted about 3 years. I was on it another 2 years and it was helpful but in retrospect I think it was pooping out a little bit. After a few years off of it, I tried it again and it really just made be apathetic and gain weight. But please don't let that discourage you. Zoloft was a great drug for me. When it worked, it worked well, and I think it really helped me understand that, when off meds, I need to work really hard to keep my fears and worries in perspective, and to not always trust those negative thoughts.

I would give it at least a month to see if it's working for you. Good luck,
Butternut

Guys - thanks so much. How long before it worked?

Guys,

Thanks for your thoughtful responses. How long before zoloft worked? It is middle of my second week and I'm not noticing anything other than anxiety when I tried to titrate up to 100 from 75. Back to 50 on one day 75 the next. I am trying not to feel discouraged as I got such a great reaction to Lexapro about three days out. Only that pooped out on me. (sigh).

Hard not to get discouraged.

Thanks for reply. How long did it take?

Dear Butternut

thanks for your thoughtful reply. How long did it take before it worked for you? (am getting discouraged as Lexapro worked very fast for me before it pooped out.)

The first time I took it I was in a stable but blah place. So it was a few months after I started taking it that I realized what a different it was making. The two other times I started it after taking a break, and was desparately craving relief, I felt a difference within a few days. I was not necessarily doing well that quickly, but I did notice that symptoms were letting up just a little bit by that time. Not sure how much of that was placebo.
