Emsam---deprenyl

Posted by willyee on May 31, 2006, at 9:51:31

I was thinking, from what i understand people have success with emsam,at the lower patch dose, but just not quite enough,HOWEVER at the higher dose patch anxiety seems to be an issue.

I was curious if anyone thought of are if anyone thinks this option is viable, use the patch at the lowest dose available......

And then used liquid deprenyl as needed to adjust the dose, for example one might want the higher dose at morning so they can add a drop or two, however at night u dont want a higher dose so having the lower patch on u wont be forced into a higher dose level.

I mean it is the same medicine,u dunno just an idea.I know ive used deprenyl droplets to supplemtn parnate before.

I have just gone to a higher dose and it seems to help the anxiety for me, not make it worse but it has only been a few days so far.

I dont consider these meds any longer im sorry, they are simply pharmcitucal drugs, and a p doc doesent offer much more help than going at it myself

willyee,

I've been on Emsam for about 9 days and it's helped my depression. An issue for some people seems to be dose response and timing and your idea may be worth consideration. I wish there were more data on using the patch versus oral or under the tongue. And I'm wondering why a compounding pharmacy could not make a transdermal selegiline patch at the fraction of the cost that Squibb is charging.

Also, I have a new awareness now about how substances put on the skin are absorbed into the bloodstream. I have dry skin and use a lot of cheap grocery store lotion that contain mineral oil and a bunch of unrecognizable chemicals.

warm regards, Jake
