When I took it it did the same to me. Doc said it was because I turned out to be actually bipolar but stuck in the depressed state without any mania really. What's your dx? What other meds are you taking? If you are bipolar you should consider a mood stabilizer with it. I am taking Lamictal and thinking of giving Wellbutrin a second try.

I was on Wellbutrin for depression. It worked. Then I switched to Lamictal, a mood stabilizer, which was working very well until I added Wellbutrin it and the combination sent me into a mixed bipolar reaction. I had to immediately stop the Wellbutrin. I am back to only Lamictal (200 mg twice/day). Doc is going to see what else will help with or without Lamictal.

I go back on the 19th. I'll let you al know what happens.

sounds like you've given it a good try. It has an "upper" effect more than the mood stabilizers (in general I think since it's a norepinephrine drug vs. a serotonin drug). Talk to your doctor about trying something else. Or get a second opinion if your doctor doesn't want you to try something else. You can always add in a touch of WB if you need it for energy, sex drive, wt. gain (if there are negative side effects from another antidepressant). I've heard a lot of people add in anxiolytic drugs to their WB to knock the edginess off...I'd only do this IF you felt honestly happier on the WB but just "all hopped up".

Hi,
Maybe you could try Neurontin as a mood stabilizer instead of the Lamictal, and then add back the Wellbutrin? Then you would have the anti smoking properties too?
