I know this post may sound really weird, but when I was on MAOI's I noticed people's eyebrows in a really weird freaky kind of way.
Just thought I'd share, any similar experiences ?

Not sure what it is. I just thought the drug was probably turning on some sort of face recognition circutry.
It has happened a few times. It just seems that all of a sudden peoples eyebrows *really stand out* ! Weird
It was strange, I just thought I'd mention it, to see if anyone has had similar experiences.

Which MAOI are you taking to get that feeling ?
Nardil and Parnate doesn't have the same secondary mechanism (Ex: Nardil->GABA).. at which dose ?
any difference between the male or female eyebrows ?Marty

It was parnate. No, all eyebrows were the same (male/female). It was mainly the way they moved when people made certain facial expressions. Its like the whole face dissapeared and there were the eyebrows alone, floating in space.

That's interesting! I can't say I've gotten that myself on Parnate. (yet)

Wow. I never had that on Parnate, but I did have a similar experience on Cymbalta. It sounds worse than yours though. I started noticing them and wondered what it would be like to slice one out. Needless to say, it completely freaked me out. Who the hell would wonder what it would be like to take a razor and slice out an eyebrow?? That drug made me crazy ;-) I'm back on Parnate again and have no freaky thoughts about razors. Damn, these drugs do the strangest things to us.

Theory: I remember when I first started taking Nardil and it kicked in. Suddenly I stopped paying so much attention to what was going on inside of me and started looking at the world around me. I was a hypochondriac (card carrying!) so suddenly NOT sensing my own body was an amazing thing. Maybe in a way the same thing is happening to you; you are being drawn outside of yourself and noticing the world around you. Granted eyebrows are not as much fun as, let's say flowers but hell it's something ;-)
There is the other train of thought that when you notice one thing suddenly you see it everywhere. Everytime I was pregnant it seemed every worman I saw was pregnant also. When I got my new car suddenly that was the only kind of car I saw on the road. Ok so we all have eyebrows....so maybe that idea is crap ;-)
Either way as far as 'side effects' goes it beats fainting spells, itchy skin or whathaveyou :-)

> LinkadgeThat's strange! It's probably nothing. I tend to observe things differently while on antidepressants... grass seems more green, etc. Maybe the increase in NE triggers your pupils to dialate, giving you slightly higher visual acuity. Anyway...I wouldn't worry until the eybrows start talking to you ;P

Hi Link
A lot of body parts seem strange if you look at/think about them for long enough. I think noses are quite weird.

Seriously though, this is really funny. I hope it isn't bothering you.
