Do you need to give EMSAM a full 6-8 weeks to know if it will work for you? (Not sure if the method for delivery means a brief trial is adequate).

Someone who was in the clinical trials for the drug years ago and used to post here indicated that it took him five weeks to respond to the patch. So, I would say at least that.

I tried to find that post but have been unable to and it just bums me out cause I look and look but cannot find it. I also found a continuing education thing for docs and they keep preaching 4-6 weeks for meds to kick in. What an awful disease that it takes so long to be relieved of this misery. I will be at 2 weeks on Tuesday and wish the time would pass faster. I am having no side effects other than some diarrhea on occasion but its livable for sure.

I don't use emsam but the active ingredient in emsam (selegiline)& I responded very quickly but others may take longer. For me it was just 3 days.
