How long is a fair trial for Parnate?

Its been almost three weeks at 30mgs and I feel terrible

Thinking of going back to Effexor and Mirtazapine
The only combination that sent me into remision

Personaly speakig id definatly go higher than 30,i feel nodda and never really did under 40 minminuim.

I agree, 30mg is way too small a dose to do any good. See if you can get your doc to increase to at least 60mg to give it a good trial.

Maybe it's hard to say, Tom (about the effective dose, if there is one) I wouldn't know, I only got to 20. Do you feel worse than before you started Parnate? What (if anything) do you feel Parnate is doing to you? Can you sleep?

30 mg is low. You have already invested some of your time and energy into tranylcypromine, I think you should at least try it at a medium or high dose.

I've been on and off of Parnate most of my life. It's the only thing that works for me, but I don't feel much relief until I take 50 mg. 60 mg is the top recommended dosage, but even at 60, I wash out after a few years. It sucks, but I haven't found a pdoc to let me take more than 60. I know people do, as my mom did years ago. However, that doctor retired so I can't see him.

Try to get on a good dose and see if it works. Good luck.

Unfortunatly I'm self medicating with Parnate, So desperate for relief!

Its all a bit up in the air at the moment
