Hi
I was on wellbutrin 300mg a while back, and i dont know exactly what it did, but when i was off it, i "knew" i was off it.
Does wellbutrin produce stimulation?
At 450mg, i also heard sometimes it doesnt go good.
Does anyone have any say?

I was on 300 mg SR for around 2 years several years ago. For the first 6 months, it worked wonders for depression, motivation, and some ADD symptoms.
But then it was less and less effective after that 6 month period. By 8-9 months, it was pretty worthless.
But you should be willing to give it a try.
I tried 450 mgs too and it was not ideal... I was spacey and it felt uncomfortable.

I should also add that when it was effective, it left me often hypomanic. It was great on depression but pretty bad for anxiety. However, it was as if I could overcome the anxiety through the hypomanic euphoria... I was anxious but didn't care because I felt so good! When the hypomania wore down, like say, after 6 pm, I would have pretty amazing concentration.
It is also definitely stimulating, (I think it works on both dopamine and norepinephrine... but someone else here would be able to talk about the biochem a little more accurately than me).
If I try it again, it will be at a low dose, (100-150 SR) plus a low dose SSRI (10 mgs prozac).

That's such a coincidence-I'm taking 150 mg Wellbutrin XR and 10 mg Prozac (also 0.75 mg Klonopin) and it is working very well...after months and months of fear and depression; what a blessing. Best of luck-it is a combination that is working for me.

is the highest dosage i have taken and yes, it caused much stimulation. it took the daytime fatigue away although it did heighten my anxiety. i have to take .5mg klonopin when i'm on the verge of a panic attack but it is worth it IMO.

It was the same for me. Are you strictly depressed? How depressed? scale of 1-10.
