I'm such an idiot!
I've been taking Soma at dosages of up to 700mg to help me sleep.
Just realised I could have trashed my liver!
What are the warning sighns for Heptic problems?

Hey Tom...
Sorry I'm not anyone more knowledgable.....but I think jaundice would be a sign of inproper liver function.... I don't know....anyway well I'm thinking of you until someone turns up who knows something!!
Whats soma? I tried looking it up but didn't get anything useful.
If you're really worried, try ringing NHS direct 0845 4647 I've used them before and they are quite good.
I think if you've properly 'trashed' your liver, then you'd be vomiting, naseous, etc.
I just read that the liver can regenerate itself -- apparently, as little as 25% of remaining liver can regenerate into a whole liver again.
:o)
Kind regards
Meri

Wow!, if only 25% of my brain could regenerate itself into a whole new brain.

The normal dose is 350 mg four times a day for muscle injuries and I can not find anything about it causing liver damage. To see if it was addictive, a group a men were give five time the normal dose for the length of the study. Another man went into a coma when he ingested 35 grams but it doesn't say he damaged his liver.
Allergies to Carisoprodol can occur. And it can build up and make one very sedated if one ALREADY has liver damage.
Still, it is smart to get a liver panel done when one takes meds. I take several so I usually do it every four months. I don't drink alcohol, take showers in jet fuel, or smoke illegal drugs spinkled with toxic chemicals. If you do those things, you might have a reason to worry.
One can survive on a liver functioning at 10%.
I think you will be fine. River.
