BP is in four readings 142/76, 135/78, 149/76, 149/76. I'm usually in the neighborhood of 100/60...
Just had to use the Afrin : (
I really don't want and ER visit if I can avoid it; are those numbers *that* high? And if I just fight through it, how long does it tend to last?
Won't medically hold you to the info, just looking for other's experiences.
Thanks,
Suzie

I found my BP on Parnate a bit unstable, and easily made higher by such things as drinking whisky, smokeing dope, eating chocolate, I wasn't sure. It's a worry, isn't it? I don't think those readings are that high, but it may not give you much room to move.
What's Afrin?

Although they are high for you, those readings are really nothing to worry about. It's getting to the borderline high blood pressure point. The diastolic (top number) is a little high. The systolic (bottom number) is fine. Keep an eye on it w/o worrying about it too much. Anxiety over it can actually cause elevated readings. Just relax. Peace...

Thanks guys! The little chair at the pharmacy where I took it said 140 was high, so I was kinda wanting a reality check on that. 140 didn't seem too high to me, but I could feel it throbbing and such. Creeped me out.
Declan, Afrin is spray nasal decongestant. Thought I could get away with it..
All better now, I checked and Zanaflex (muscle relaxer) lowers BP so I had one and slept it off.
Thanks!

Trazodone will also lower your base blood pressure. The only problem is that it's a mixed blessing and can make orthostatic hypotension worse. That's why I try to avoid it. You have to remember that MAO's cause you to loose some control over your BP, plus it varies quite a bit throughout the day, so I don't think you have anything to worry about at that level.
