Guys 4 days on 0.5 mg of Risperdal. I feel depressed.No motivation, a lot of fear. suicide thoughts . I wake in the mornigs with no energy.
I have increased the dose to 1mg since tonight. I dont know if this is ok .Is there any reason to believe Im gonna feel different?.Maybe I need, like someone said here , something more serotoninergic. what do you recommend me?
Tianeptine ? Aurorix ? Maybe even Prozac ...
Or go to the Parnate.

YES YES YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!! TEP, YOU HAVE JUST STARTED.....I KNOW SOMEONE AFTER 3 WEEKS ON RISPERIDONE, COMPLETELY CHANGED...NO DEPRESSION, NO ANXIETY.....RISPERIDONE IS GREAT, BUT I WOULD PUSH NARDIL UP TO 120MG WITH IT.....PLEASE HAVE FAITH. Nardil. But it was not the way I wanted to live. Maybe Im gonna return to Nardil If I dont find
somethnig better in these days.

I dont like how I am feeling. Instead of
being more social I am trying to avoid all
social situation. I dont enjoy nothing. I can´t
focus.
I have been worst. Almost all the meds that
has helped me in some way, they do it quickly
2 or 3 days. I don´t how possible is that in the
first 7 I have bad moments after that I start to
feel great. Neve have happened on me.

Does your doctor still think you've got schizoaffective disorder? Or does he agree that you're suffering from a combination of depression and social phobia?

I think you should stay on Risperidone, because a lot of the time when a drug makes you feel worse at the start, thats a good sign the drug is going to work great!!!!
But please, I would also be on 3-4 mg Xanax daily to calm down. You sound very woried, confused and scared. I feel for you, and you don't deserve to feel this way. With Nardil, I personally don't think you used it in the proper way.
If things get real bad, I think you should temporarily be on eithe Largactil or Thioridizine, at high doses. This will allow you to sleep and give your brain some rest from the anxiety.

You are NOT!!!!!! you only feel this way NOW. When i was in hellish depression/anxiety I felt the same way, but things will turn around...please have faith and be patient>

Ace suggested clomipramine (Anafranil) - a tricylic antidepressant. Anafranil can certainly be effective for anxiety, it might be worth a try :-)
Anafranil must *never* be combined with Nardil. You need to have been off Nardil for 3 weeks before starting Anafranil. Similarly, you need to have been off Anafranil for a least 3 weeks before starting Nardil.

Thank you guys, I really appreciate your concern
I am still on Risperdal. I dont want to leave it
until I have realized its not for me.
At the moment I dont like side effects such
as ,dizzines, increased apetite ( that is
going to lead me to weigth gain), low libido
( who cares about libido rigth now, but anyway
I dont like it)
I see all medicines in the same way, they are
just candies for me. I dont feel any change, I
only notice the side effects.I honestly have lost
the faith. All the drugs take me into the same
state. I am not exited about trying any triciclyc nor any SSRIs,but I guess I have to do it. Again thank you , Ed, ace, phillipa, and everybody, you mean my only support

Have you tried any other Anti-Psychotics?
I've heard of other people who said Risperdal made them feel worse and I sort of agree with you, I've always been the same if a drug is going to work for me it usually works within a week or so or not at all. Otherwise I just feel worse.
Alternatively maybe you need a higher dose of Risperdal, Zyprexa did nothing for me on 5mg but really helps if I take 10mg now and again.
I hope you find something soon to give you relief.
